The DMD-078.12 is a multi-axis power amplifier for up to eight 1-phase motors, four 2-phase motors and/or combined four 3-phase motors. The high PWM frequency of 20 kHz makes it possible to drive even very low inductive motors. The flexible sensor interface allows for the connection of up to 6 incremental encoders. The LCD module offers a user-friendly clear text display.
Use of the latest FPGA technologies forges new ground in signal processing, for example, through the implementation of oversampling algorithms and the realization of very fast cycle times, which play a crucial role in achieving the necessary bandwidth for controlling dynamic drives.
Different EtherCAT® protocols are used for data transfer with higher-level machine control. The cyclical process data can be mapped in a variety of ways and are transmitted with the CoE protocol (Can over EtherCAT®) with cycle times at very short intervals down to 100 µs. Acyclical service data are used for DMD diagnostics and commissioning, and the firmware update can also be implemented via EtherCAT®.
The DMD is an extremely compact, high-output servo controller (312 mm height, 60 mm width, 244 mm depth, including mounting strap and connector).
